KP cm Move PHC against the passport block, inclusion ECL

Peshawar:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur’s chief minister, filed a brief request before the High Court of Peshawar (PHC) contesting the blocking of his passport and the inclusion of his name in the output control list (ECL) and other surveillance lists.

The petition, deposited by the lawyer Bashir Wazir, appoints the Ministry of the Interior, Director General of the FIA, Director General of Passports and Immigration, and others as respondents.

He argues that the chief minister, being the director general of the province, must often travel abroad for official and administrative issues. However, his name would have been illegally put on the list, his passport blocked and his name was placed on the ECL and other lists, restoring its movement.

According to the petition, Gandapur asked for the renewal of its passport, but the authorities refused to treat it. His lawyer argued that no prior notice had been issued before placing his name on the lists, which is equivalent to discriminatory treatment and violates constitutional rights.

The petition asks the court to Immager the authorities to withdraw its name from the CEC, the provisional control list and the national control list, restore its passport and allow it to travel abroad for official tasks. The Legal Team of the Chief also asked for an early hearing of the case.
