PESHAWAR:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday received separate briefings at the Governor’s House on the operations and restoration of Radio Pakistan Peshawar as well as the performance of the Immigration and Passport Department in the province.
The first briefing on Radio Pakistan was delivered by station manager Tufail Ahmed, also in the presence of senior producer Sardar Azam Khan. Officials informed the governor that the station was founded on March 6, 1935, with initial broadcasts originating from the Civil Secretariat.
Governor Kundi was also briefed about the damage inflicted on the Radio Pakistan building during the May 9, 2023 unrest, when miscreants caused extensive destruction and burned valuable historical recordings. Authorities said the restoration work was completed in January 2026, allowing all offices and departments to fully resume operations.
