The government of Khyber -Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to include the treatment of three major transplant procedures – renal, liver and bone marrow – as part of its Sehat Card Plus program.
In addition, the cost of cochlear implants will also be fully covered by the government.
The decision was made at a high -level meeting chaired by the chief minister of KP. Provincial information lawyer Muhammad Ali Saif said that the government would now provide completely free transplantation and implant services, marking a major expansion of the health insurance plan.
“This is another online revolutionary step with the vision of the founding president,” said the lawyer Saif, referring to the PTI health care reforms.
He added that the services as part of this program would be accessible to eligible citizens without any financial burden.
The provincial health service was invited to implement these changes immediately. The government also plans to include rehabilitation services for people hanging on drugs as part of the Sehat card.
In parallel development, the KP government has approved regulations allowing the use of cannabis factories for medical, research and industrial purposes.
Earlier, the Government of KP launched free services from the Department of External Consultations (OPD) as part of the Sehat Card Plus program. The initiative was officially inaugurated by the Minister -in -chief Ali Amin Gandapur during a ceremony held in the Chamber of the Minister of Chief.
The OPD program began as a pilot project in the Mardan district, where it was initially deployed for the benefit of 50,000 deserving households.
The project was to develop in the second phase in the districts of Chitral, Malakand and Kohat, finally reaching around 120,000 deserving households in these areas, on the basis of Benazir Revenue Program (BISP) data.
