KP is looking for Afghan aid for peace negotiations

The government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has officially asked the Afghan ambassador to facilitate talks with the TTP prohibited, a source in the provincial government informed the Express PK Press Club Peshawar office.

Following the repeated guidelines of the imprisoned chief of PTI, Imran Khan, the chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, accompanied by the great member of the Grand Jirga, Barister Muhammad Ali Saif, visited the Afghan High Commissioner in Islamabad on Friday evening.

At the beginning, the chief minister presented condolences to the Afghan ambassador Ahmad Shukab and provided additional assistance for the bereaved families of Kunar after the recent deaths of earthquakes.

The two parties also discussed the repatriation of Afghan refugees, insurance against forced evictions and the security situation in the province.

Ambassador Shukab welcomed the timely response from the KP government and recognized its cooperation on the issue of Afghan refugees.

Gandapur informed the envoy of the situation of the law and the order to KP and proposed to form a Jirga to speak with the TTP prohibited in Kabul or elsewhere in Afghanistan, confirmed the source.

The Afghan ambassador assured that he would transmit the request of the chief to the central Afghan command, adding that the terms of the meeting would be finalized, added the source.
