The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has completed a successful test flight for its very first air ambulance service, using a mid -7 helicopter which will be converted to offer emergency medical services.
Health Advisor Ihtisham Ali participated in testing and was informed of the conversion of the military transport helicopter made in Russia to air ambulance, Express News reported.
He confirmed that the provincial government adapts the mid -7 helicopter for the public service for emergency medical evacuations, with medical equipment and the necessary modifications to meet international standards.
Addressing the media, Ihtisham Ali stressed that the government, under the special directive of the chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, used for the first time the helicopter of the MI-17 to meet the health needs of the people.
“This helicopter has already played a decisive role in the supply of drugs and the evacuation of patients in safer places in an emergency, saving thousands of lives,” added Ali.
The air ambulance service will not incur additional costs for the public, because the MI-17 helicopter belongs to the provincial government. It is expected to become the country’s first air ambulance system, offering high -quality effective and effective services for medical emergencies through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In addition, time in KP remains cold and dry with temperatures lowering as low as -3 ° C in certain regions, according to the meteorological department.
The weather forecast indicates that the majority of the province will experience cold and dry conditions in the coming days, with a partial cloud coverage expected in areas like Chitral, Dir and SWAT, Express News reported.
