The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has unveiled a new online system for vehicle recording, tax payment and the universal emission of license plates under the “Dastak” platform.
The system, which was launched during an event organized at the Maison du chief, aims to simplify vehicle -related services and reduce the need for citizens to visit government offices, Express News reported.
The chief minister of KP, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, officially inaugurated the system, which will allow citizens to supplement various services, such as the recording of vehicles and tax payments, the comfort of their homes.
This decision should improve transparency, reduce corruption and increase the effectiveness of government services.
The project experienced a pilot phase in September 2023, which saw the registration of 13,229 vehicles, the issue of 71,654 good and the transfer of ownership for 6,437 vehicles.
The initiative generated more than RS28 crosses in income and issued 13,738 plates of universal numbers.
Gandapur praised the efforts of the Incise Department for the successful implementation of the system and highlighted the positive impact of digitization on public services.
He also highlighted the economic benefits of the initiative, declaring that the province had increased its income by 49% thanks to effective use of resources.
The system should have a positive effect on the prevention of flight and improper use of vehicles, citizens being able to complete all the necessary tasks online.
The chief minister also announced his intention to use technology to combat drug abuse, urging citizens to cooperate with the authorities in the fight against illicit drugs.
In his speech, Gandapur expressed his commitment to the province’s progress, declaring that KP will continue to put pressure for development and justice, even if it means taking legal measures at each forum.
