In the midst of growing security and crime rates, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police service made the police customs clearance certificate a compulsory requirement to obtain a job.
This decision applies not only to government and private sector jobs, but also to employees working in stores and households. To promote this initiative, the police service launched an awareness campaign under the slogan “better than more healed”.
The campaign urges citizens to request an authorization certificate of the police before hiring employees for their companies or their homes. Authorities have warned that not checking an employee’s history could potentially cause future problems.
The police service has ordered all district officers to activate facilitation centers, ensuring that the process of obtaining the authorization certificate is facilitated the public. These centers, which are established in each city, allow residents to quickly access their certificates.
The process of obtaining an authorization certificate implies an online verification for local citizens, and a visit to the facilitation center is required.
For non-residents, the process requires submitting a form, providing an identity card and two photographs, and obtaining approvals from the local police station and the police superintendent. Certificates are generally treated within five to six hours.
In addition, the police said that the hiring of foreign nationals or Afghan nationals without a certificate of authorization could lead to legal action against the employer.
