Peshawar:

The advisor to the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on information and public relations, lawyer Muhammad Ali Saif, deplored Monday that the federal government has not yet responded to the letter from chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur concerning the transfer of funds for merged districts.

He stressed that since their constitutional merger, tribal districts have now been official from KP; Consequently, the transfer of their development funds to the province was a constitutional and legal obligation.

The lawyer SAIF expressed his concern about the silence of the federal government, calling it deeply regrettable and a flagrant violation of the Constitution and the law.

In the context of the increase in activists and terrorist incidents, in particular in KP, the lawyer Saif stressed that the economic stability and the development of merged districts were essential to counter terrorism, because terrorism was not only a provincial problem but a national problem.

He accused the federal government of retaining funds instead of cooperating with the KP government for the development of merged districts, which it has described as an injustice to the population of these regions.

He said that under the leadership of CM Gandapur, the provincial government is fully attached to the development of merged districts, with a particular accent on education, health care and infrastructure.

The lawyer, Dr. Saif, also declared that the federal government should stop treating the province with an attitude of mother-in-law and immediately free all of the pending funds.

He added that the KP government used all the resources available to bring tribal districts equally with the rest of the province and urged the federal government to support these efforts instead of hindering them by retaining financial support.
