Kristen Stewart has expressed interest in remaking her internationally acclaimed film Dusk series.
The 35-year-old rose to fame after starring in the popular vampire franchise as Bella Swan from 2008 to 2012 alongside Robert Pattinson, who played Edward Cullen.
Now that she has entered the world of directing with her first film The water timeline (2025), she confided that this time she would like to go behind the camera to redo the Dusk series.
Kristen explained that it’s not that she didn’t like what directors Catherine Hardwicke and Chris Weitz did with the franchise, because she knows all too well how hard they worked on the project.
She said Entertainment this evening, “I like what Catherine [Hardwicke] I made it, I love it Chris [Weitz] I did, I love what all the directors did with the films.
“They were so themselves and weird and kind of like squirrels, and so present in that time where they didn’t really know what they were yet, like before they exploded.”
Stewart wants to revamp the series with a “huge budget”.
While expressing her commitment to the project, the Love Lies Bleeding star added: “Imagine if we had a huge budget and a lot of love and support.”
She concluded by saying that she doesn’t yet have the slightest idea how to proceed, but that she would certainly like to adapt the project. “I’m doing it! I’m committed!”
