A beggar pretending to be disabled was captured by traffic police in Lahore after a demonstration of deception.
According to traffic police officials, the individual was seen begging for alms near the delighted bridge, claiming that there are no weapons, Express News reported.
The beggar had succeeded in convincing several citizens of his handicap, collecting money from passers -by without distrust.
However, when the traffic police approached, the beggar revealed his cunning by pulling his arms hidden from his shirt, exposing the deception.
The incident raised concerns about beggars using false allegations of disability to exploit the generosity of the public.
The authorities noted that many beggars in the city employ similar tactics, pretending to have disabilities in order to earn public money.
A repression is underway on beggars operating on traffic lights, markets and the main roads through Lahore to brake these scams.
Police also mentioned that some beggars had been captured several times using similar tips and had to face legal action to prevent new exploitation.
Authorities focus on the fight against misleading begging in the city to protect vulnerable members of society.
