Ravi Road police had a significant breakthrough Thursday by arresting a suspect involved in the manufacture and distribution of ice, a very dangerous and illegal drug in Lahore.

The accused, identified as Tanveer, was captured in the act of manufacturing the substance in a makeshift factory.

According to the authorities, Tanveer was seen in a video preparing ice, which led to his arrest after a secret operation. During its capture, the police recovered 2160 grams of prepared ice as well as chemicals used in its production, a cylinder stove, plastic bottles and other materials linked to the manufacturing process.

Tanveer would have been qualified to produce ice, and he would have treated his sale in the region. His arrest marks an important blow for local drug trade.

An official case was filed against Tanveer and investigations are underway. Police Superintendent (SP) City, Captain (Retd.) Qazi Ali Raza, congratulated the efforts of the police station of Ravi Road and the team involved in the operation. He also assigned appreciation certificates to the officer of the Station House (SHO) and his team for their role in the successful operation.

“Individuals responsible for the destruction of our young people through dangerous drugs such as ice will not receive any lenient,” said Captain of the City of SP (Retd.) Qazi Ali Raza.

The authorities have promised to continue their repression against drug manufacturing operations and their distribution networks to protect the community, in particular the young generation.
