Lahore is expected to open 10 models through the city, as part of the preparations for the sacred month of Ramadan.
The markets, aimed at providing goods at reduced and quality prices to citizens during Ramadan, will be created under the supervision of the district administration, Express News reported.
A meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner (DC) Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, was held to finalize the arrangements for the next Bazaars of Ramadan.
According to the briefing, each of the 10 bazaar models will include 10 stores – seven dedicated to the sale of fruits, vegetables, legumes, spices and other products, while three will be focused on lively products.
In an effort to make purchases more accessible, separate meters for women, the elderly and regular customers will be available.
This initiative should improve convenience and comfort, ensuring that everyone can buy effectively.
The markets will offer goods at large prices, with quality items available for citizens. DC Lahore has assured that items will be sold at prices set by the market committee, and sellers will receive products at wholesale prices to maintain costs for consumers.
DC Lahore has ordered that all the preparations for the Ramadan bazaars are completed by February 24, the markets will open before the start of Ramadan to meet the needs of buyers.
Adequate parking and cleanliness arrangements will also be made to ensure fluid shopping experience.
A few days ago, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underlined the government’s commitment to ensure the availability of essential foods at affordable prices, making it an absolute priority.
He ordered the relevant authorities to design a complete strategy to guarantee the supply of food at reasonable prices during the sacred month of Ramadan.
Speaking at the meeting of the cabinet, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of cooperation between federal and provincial governments to deliver affordable food to the public. He noted that collaboration is crucial to alleviate the burden of common citizens.
