More than 360 guests during a wedding reception in the city of Johar de Lahore were affected by severe food poisoning, with more than 200 hospitalized people, some in critical condition.
The incident took place during a private marquee at Satto Katla, where lower quality foods were served.
Sarfraz, a resident of Khayaban-E-Amin, had reserved the marquee for his wedding ceremony.
According to the first reports, the guests began to feel nausea, vomiting and serious stomach pains shortly after consumption of the meal.
The emergency services were immediately alerted and several ambulances transported people affected in various hospitals in Lahore.
Health officials confirmed that nine patients were in critical condition at the Lahore general hospital. 27 other guests were admitted to Raiwind Industrie hospital, while seven others received treatment at the University of Lahore hospital.
The Kasur DHQ hospital attended more than ten affected guests, and a total of 31 patients were treated in private and public hospitals in Narowal.
In an interview with the media, Sarfraz accused the direction of Chapiteau of serving “an extremely bad quality of quality and non -hygienic”, which led to the mass of pissing in mass.
Local authorities have taken rapid measures, food security teams collecting samples with affected foods for tests.
The authorities have promised to take strict measures against those responsible if negligence is proven. An FIR has already been recorded against individuals accused of having caused mass food poisoning.
