KARACHI: YouTuber Rajab Butt was assaulted following an appearance before a district and additional sessions court in Karachi in a case related to a controversial statement.

Appearing in the municipal court alongside TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, aka Naniwaala, as part of a bail application, Butt was assaulted by lawyers, leaving him with a bloody mouth and a torn shirt.

The lawyers claimed the YouTuber made “disparaging remarks” about them in a vlog after his previous court appearance, where he said the person who filed the complaint against me “doesn’t look like a lawyer.”

Butt was named in a case registered against him at the Hyderi police station by lawyer Riaz Ali Solangi over controversial remarks.

Confirming the incident, the YouTuber’s lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq said some lawyers attacked his client and continued to beat and injure him in the court premises.

β€œIt is an unfortunate thing that has no place in any educated society,” he said in an article on X.

Meanwhile, during today’s hearing, the court extended Butt’s interim bail until January 13, 2026 and adjourned the matter regarding his bail application until the same date.

Besides the controversial speech case, Butt is also incarcerated in another case, accused of promoting gaming and betting apps.

Earlier this month, YouTuber and TikToker Naniwala was granted transit bail in the Islamabad High Court after returning to the country from the United Kingdom, from where the former was deported as his visa was revoked.

The duo was later also granted interim bail from a sessions court in Lahore on December 15.
