Lawyers reserved for the viral circulation line

Rawalpindi:

Cant police recorded a case against certain lawyers for launching threats to traffic police, making a video of the confrontation to grasp a motorcycle and make it viral on social networks. The case was registered under the PECA Act and other offenses.

Rawalpindi’s legal fraternity protested the registration of a case and asked for its rapid withdrawal.

Inspector Wajid of the city’s traffic police complained that he was in service with his team when a video was broadcast on Facebook by lawyer Chaudhry Rizwan Elahi.

The incident took place on Haider Road on Saturday, where a motorcyclist was arrested so as not to wear a helmet and for the absence of a front license plate. The rider, identified as Malik Tajammul, received a Challan (ticket), and his motorcycle was seized due to a lack of documents.

The motorcyclist presented himself as a lawyer and called around 15 lawyers at the scene, who would have launched serious threats. The other police officers present helped defuse the situation. However, lawyer Rizwan Elahi later published video on his Facebook account, allegedly to defame the police.

The complaint stipulates that the video has been intentionally made viral to encourage the feeling of the public and slander the image and dignity of the police service.

He also alleys that the threats were issued to uniform officers and that official work has been clogged – the acts considered to be criminals.

Police confirmed that a case had been registered and that investigations were underway.

On the other hand, lawyers firmly condemned the registration of a case, the appellant made. In a statement published by Asad Mehmood Malik, secretary of the Rawalpindi Bar Association, the association expressed a strong condemnation of the city police “an illegal, unconstitutional and inappropriate behavior” of their estimated member and former joint secretary, defender of Malik Tajammul Awan.

Despite the resolution of the case on the scene, the association of the bar protested strongly against the “Slocked Fir”, stayed against the defenders Elahi and Awan, demanding its immediate withdrawal.

The Rawalpindindi district bar has declared full solidarity with its members, claiming that the dignity and honor of legal fraternity would never be compromised. If the case is not withdrawn within 24 hours, the bar will announce its next strict action course.
