“It was he who taught me to play baseball,” recalls Williams about his father. “It was he who taught me to play music with my guitar and all that. All these things come together with this initiative, where I can really give back to the community, remember his inheritance and do great things to my mind also, be able to feel rewarded when I help other people to sail through these really difficult moments.”
This program explores how music and breathing can help people deal with the physical and mental aspects of the disease, and it allowed Williams to connect with patients and caregivers thanks to his music.
“Music has always been a really important part of my life, and as I get older, I can see how powerful music is in all aspects of life,” he said. “You can use it for healing. If you are emotional, it can help you go through difficult moments. You can use it to train. The power of music is so large, and for me, it seems to be obvious to introduce it and to try to be part of this campaign, which uses the power of music with a lot of these things you are experiencing when you live.
Thanks to the initiative website, Williams, which has a Latin Grammy nominated under his musical career belt, likes different ways in which patients and caregivers can use music and breathing exercises to improve their daily life.
