The 35 -year -old man, who supervised a victory for the test of tests against England last year, will bring an experience and a pedigree of striker in Grace Road. He should start his visit in May, following the conclusion of the Super League of Pakistan, and should make his debut at the Leicestershire on May 31, against his former county, Derbyshire.
This decision confirms the end of the Masood association with the Yorkshire, following the culmination of a two -year agreement which saw him captain of the club since 2023. The left -hander has raised 1,240 championship of the county of the racing to an average of 53.91 in 15 games, helping the Yorkshire to reintegrate the promotion in Division 1 in 2024.
He initially moved to Headingley after an impressive summer of 2022 with Derbyshire, in which he scored 1,078 first -class points at 82.61. It was during this passage, in April, that Masood struck 219 against the Leicestershire in a sleeve victory, becoming the derbyshire first striker to mark double consecutive centuries after 239 against Sussex the previous week.
Masood was crowned 90 times by Pakistan in all formats, including 42 caps, and joins the captain of the Club Peter Handscomb and the Netherlands Logan Van Beek as options abroad of Leicestershire for the next campaign. It should be available throughout the season, without a test game scheduled during the English summer. This could change if the PCB decided to recall this to their limited configuration for a Caribbean visit from July 31, although the last international appearance of white ball masood was occurred in May 2023.

“I love playing upstonsteel County Ground. Fans get behind the team in strong numbers and the games of which I was part were always a big show. The club has been very competitive in all formats and has produced young fantastic players in recent years. It is an exciting period to join the foxes.”
The director of cricket, Claude Henderson, added: “We are delighted to welcome someone from Shan to Leicestershire. He is a proven international talent and in county cricket, and someone who can win matches in the three formats.
“Shan completes a fantastic range of additions abroad to our team. His leadership and experience will be invaluable for the team on and off the field.”
