Leighton Meester has opened up about how his experiences shaped his latest on-screen role.
Speaking to People Magazine, the Gossip Girl alum opened up about her latest role in the new HBO comedy, I Love LA.
Meester admitted, “I was in a toxic work environment.”
Adding, “I think a lot of people have experienced that, being surrounded by people who sort of… I don’t know, just, like you have a boss who maybe doesn’t elevate you, or whatever.”
The actress revealed that she found the show’s “chaotic” energy both relatable and fun to explore.
Notably, her partner Josh Hutcherson, who also participated in the interview, expressed shock at her confession, saying, “In this industry, has this ever happened to you?”
“I know. It’s shocking,” Meester noted.
