Aaron Rodgers answered the last remaining question of the NFL off-season earlier this month when he finally accepted a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh steelers.
The reaction was a little more mixed than support. The Steelers had five different quarter games for them since Ben Roethlisberger retired after the 2021 season, and Rodgers was not exactly in MVP form when he signed with the New York Jets in 2023.

While a former managing director said that Rodgers would be “unrelevant” by Thanksgiving, the Super Bowl champion Joe Theismann, adopted a more optimistic approach when he spoke to PK Press Club Digital when he was preparing for the American championship golf tournament of the century next month.
He said Rodgers had the “potential to succeed” because of his ability to launch the ball with another key factor – he does not have to play GM in addition to the quarter.
“Remember that Aaron offenses have been until this year that he mainly controlled,” said Theismann. “He knew the systems, he had his coordinators, his contribution to the people he wanted. Now, that is why I think he will succeed, now he can just play the quarter.
“He does not need to be deputy managing director. He does not have to worry about staff. The only thing he must worry about is being able to execute this offense, nothing else. So, from my point of view, I think that it takes a burden to be honest with you. And instead of trying to make a team better, just be part of a team and make your part for better.”

In addition, the steelers led by Mike Tomlin have always been well trained.
“You are part of the football team, you know, the way you gain respect is that you go out and do your job, and you study hard, and you work hard,” added Theismann. “And, of course, Aaron says all the good things right now, and I think he’s going to do the right things.”
Rodgers had 3,897 yards by the pass, 28 Touché passes and 11 interceptions in his first season leaving his Achilles tear.
Jets have suffered difficult losses throughout the year. After starting 2-1, New York fell five times consecutive. Of these five defeats, four of them were in a score.

Pittsburgh made the series at 10-7, and it will certainly be interesting to see how they do it with Rodgers under the center.
