LAHORE:
Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Aalia Neelum has decided to fill all the approved judge posts in the Provincial High Court and initiated the process of appointing judges to the vacant posts.
The approved strength of LHC judges is 60, but currently 42 judges, including the Chief Justice, are serving, while 18 positions remain vacant.
Due to these vacancies, the workload has increased, placing an additional burden on serving judges. Once the appointments are made, the Provincial High Court will function, for the first time in its history, in full force. This decision should help to process files in a timely manner.
