Liaison officers who will be adopted at high lessons

Islamabad:

In a momentum towards the reform of the justice sector, a high -level meeting was held under the chairmanship of the chief judge of Pakistan to examine and improve the institutional links between the associations of bars and the Commission of law and justice of Pakistan.

According to a press release published on Friday, the chief judge of Pakistan, judge Yahya Afridi, shared ideas of his recent visits in some of the most remote districts of all the provinces, where he evaluated the state of judicial infrastructure and identified key challenges.

Despite the availability of development funds, he observed that an inadequate coordination between the institutions has hampered an effective implementation.

He underlined the need to include bars associations in judicial development efforts, in particular those related to legal complexes.

To fill the coordination gap, the Commission has decided to publish higher level representatives in each province. These officers will be based in high lessons and will serve as connections with district bars associations.

Their functions include raising awareness among initiatives in the justice sector, identifying local priorities and the supervision of basic reforms.

Barreau associations will also be invited to submit development proposals to examination by the district development committees concerned led by the D & SJ.

Representatives of the federal and provincial departments are now part of the process to accelerate execution and prevent the duplication of resources.

Stressing the importance of synergy, the president urged the representatives of the bar to proactively engage their members and to remain involved in these reform efforts.

He ordered that all the support provided by the government of bars associations is rationalized and properly structured to maximize impact and profitability.

He also called on provincial services to remain actively committed to officers designated to guarantee the timely implementation of the projects proposed by the district committees.
