Lindsey Vonn remains in the hospital and is still awaiting imaging before knowing the next steps in her medical recovery after competing on a torn ACL in the Olympics last week.

“I finally feel more like myself but I have a really long way to go,” Vonn said in an Instagram video.

“Tomorrow I’ll have another surgery, and hopefully everything goes well. And then I’ll potentially be able to leave and go home, in which case I’ll need another surgery. I’m still not sure exactly what that entails until I get better imaging.”

Vonn was visibly emotional as she lay in her hospital bed after a “rough few days.”

“That’s kind of where I am right now. I’m just in the hospital, very still,” Vonn said.

His next operation will be the fourth after his recent injury during an Olympic comeback attempt.

Vonn was arguably the biggest American story entering the Milan Cortina Olympics this year, returning to the Games for the first time in eight years after a temporary retirement. She tore an anterior cruciate ligament a week earlier during a World Cup race, but she still continued her attempt to compete.

Then she crashed 13 seconds into her first race at Milan Cortina after hitting a gate and was airlifted from the Olympic course and taken to Ca’ Foncello hospital in Treviso.

Vonn said she had “no regrets” in her first Instagram post after the accident earlier this week.

“Even though yesterday didn’t end as I had hoped, and despite the intense physical pain it caused, I have no regrets. Standing at the starting gate yesterday was an incredible feeling that I will never forget,” reads his caption.

“Knowing that I had a chance to win was a victory in itself. I also knew that racing was a risk. It has always been and always will be an incredibly dangerous sport.

“And, like ski racing, we take risks in life. We dream. We love. We jump. And sometimes we fall. Sometimes our hearts are broken. Sometimes we don’t achieve the dreams we know we can have. But that’s also the beauty of life; we can try.

“I tried. I dreamed. I jumped.”

She says the torn ACL had nothing to do with the accident.

“I was just 5 inches too tight on my line when my right arm caught on the inside of the door, twisting and causing my fall. My ACL and past injuries had nothing to do with my fall,” she said.
