Linksdao launches its own community token, adding a highly negotiable asset alongside its nearly 10,000 non -budgetary token (NFTS) This crypto golf club has tried to sell to finance its mantra: “We are going to buy a golf course.”
NFTs are not as trendy as at the beginning of 2022 when Linksdao sold its membership tokens for $ 10 million. The market euphoria which led works of hot art at the bias to reach hundreds of millions of dollars at auction has evolved a long time ago.
The Cryptoslam NFT index is down almost 97% since its creation in January 2022, showing how much the market interest is elsewhere. Evencoins now dominates the economy of the short period of attention of the crypto; Even Trump has one. Now Linksdao will have one too, with links.
“We are going to launch a community token which has a deep culture, which is integrated into the golf game, which is integrated into the community, and this is allowed under the all regulations that we must face,” said the Founder of Linksdao, Mike Dudas a community call on Tuesday evening.
The play should be launched in the coming months on the basic blockchain. A third of its supply is reserved for Linksdao NFT holders, with smaller allowances to members of other NFT communities, including fatty penguins and a boring monkey yacht club.
Any successful Crypto coin lives or inevitably dies as a financial instrument, even when its promoters – to the President of the United States – try to insist otherwise in the small characters. For their part, the combinations of Linksdao proclaimed were links was not “speculative” or an investment.
Instead, they call it a community “embed:” a means of expanding the scope of a cryptographic club that has managed to resist the bear market due to the lasting attraction of the NFT only the growing power of golf.
“The objective is that each golfer has links in his crypto portfolio,” said the chief of the community and co-founder Cooper Sherwin.
Linksdao bought a golf club in Scotland in mid-2023. Club leaders recently signed an agreement to become partial owners of a second course in Kansas City. This agreement is subject to a vote of members of the NFT-Holding of Linksdao, said Sherwin.
The Hillcrest golf course is an 18-hole course designed by an architect of the so-called Golf Golf Age, Donald Ross in 1915.
He called it once the best course in the world, but he fell into ruins during the century that followed, according to the members of the project.
This created an opportunity for Linksdao to conclude an agreement. Current owner Robb Heineman – A Kansas City businessman who also owns the City’s major league football team – closed the club a few years ago to continue a renovation project of $ 30 million.
Heineman did not return from Coindesk. In a press release, he said that Linksdao “shares our avant-garde vision for a golf club can be”.
Linksdao will become a minority owner of Hillcrest and will obtain a seat of the Board of Directors, although the project managers refused to share specific finances behind the agreement. The agreement will request the approval of the members of the Linksdao NFT holding, who vote on proposals but do not have the full legal power over the decisions of the project.
Some 200 members showed up Tuesday evening to hear the double announcement, of course, the acquisition and the token. This means that Linksdao is not in fact a “decentralized autonomous organization”, but rather a kind of affinity club for people at the intersection of crypto and golf.
The Hillcrest national membership program will become a Linksdao operation only open to holders of its NFT.
