Gaming hardware brand Logitech G has revealed its latest wireless gaming headset, the Logitech G325 Lightspeed.
Retailing for just $79.99 / £69.99, this is a surprisingly affordable new model intended to offer premium features at a relatively modest price. Its most important specifications include 24-bit high-resolution audio and a transparent built-in microphone.
It’s designed to let you “play and relax anywhere,” according to the brand, with a comfortable, sleek design that looks more like a pair of music listening cans than your average piece of gaming gear. It is also available in three colors: lilac, black and white.
In terms of battery life, you can expect over 24 hours of continuous use on a single charge. That’s far behind the 300+ hours offered by more premium alternatives like the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless, but certainly not bad for the price.
It supports multiple platforms including PC, consoles and mobile via Lightspeed wireless dongle or Bluetooth 5.2. The controls on the headset should let you switch between dongle and Bluetooth effortlessly, allowing you to quickly switch between a gaming session and relax with some music.
“We want all gamers to have premium experiences,” said Ujesh Desai, general manager of Logitech G, at the launch. “That’s why we’ve invested so much in the new G325 headset. It features an ultra-comfortable design, long-lasting battery, great sound, and works on PC, console, and mobile. It’s designed for gamers who enjoy playing on a variety of platforms.”

Very good value for money, but competition is strong
The $79.99 / £69.99 price tag is certainly below Logitech G standards, but it means the G325 Lightspeed will face some pretty tough competition in the gaming headset space.
Favorite wired models like the HyperX Cloud III or Razer BlackShark V2
Logitech’s G435 Lightspeed is also a viable alternative, as it’s wireless and frequently discounted to around $50/£30. You lose a significant portion of battery life compared to the G325 Lightspeed, but you still get an equally attractive design and cross-platform compatibility.
I’m certainly looking forward to spending time with this new arrival to see how he compares to his peers.
