Bee Maps, a project on Hivemapper, one of the largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks (Depoline) focused on the mapping of data on Solana, shared on Wednesday that it has teamed up with the giant of Lyft driving to provide them with more precise cartography data.
This decision underlines the growing role of the geospatial intelligence of crowdsourcée in the transport industry, and indicates that carpooling companies are turning to this type of infrastructure for better cards.
Hivemapper allows drivers to help map the data using dashboard cams compatible with AI that detect and automatically update real -time changes on roads, such as construction areas or modified road panels, which keeps current and precise digital cards.
“For mobility to actually work and autonomy becomes reality, the cards cannot be a reflection afterwards – they must be outsourced, alive, exact and open,” said Ariel Seidman, CEO and co -founder of Bee Maps, in a press release with Coindesk. “We are proud to arm a real innovator like Lyft with space intelligence at the level of the constantly updated street that allows their vision.”
Bee Maps is an application built above the Hivemapper network, which is part of the growing background movement (decentralized physical infrastructure networks), which exploits blockchain incentives for Crowdsource the development of real infrastructure. In the case of Bee Maps, contributors gain cryptographic rewards for the collection of streets at the street level using Hivemapper cameras. These data are processed with AI to extract important characteristics – such as signaling panels, track brands and construction zones – which are permanently updated on the platform.
This decision between Lyft and Bee Maps comes while Natix, another Depino map project on Solana, shared that he has teamed up with Taxi Service Grab, to offer better cartography technologies.

Correction (May 14, 2025, 4:02 pm UTC): Clarified on the relationship between bee cards and hivemapper throughout history, and changed the Hed to reflect that Lyft typed Hivemapper, not bee cards.
