- Apple experiencing delivery delays for MacBook Neo
- Orders from Apple’s online store are not expected to ship until mid-April
- This demand is attributed to new Mac owners, making this the biggest Mac launch for Apple.
Haven’t ordered your new MacBook Neo yet? Well, I would advise you to buy Apple’s budget laptop as soon as possible because it is experiencing delivery delays everywhere.
Following its launch on March 11, the MacBook Neo has proven to be one of Apple’s most popular products in recent years, but it seems the tech giant hasn’t been able to keep up with the growing demand that comes with it. As a result, delivery times are increasing and you may not be able to get your hands on a MacBook Neo until mid-April at the earliest.
According to 9to5Mac, every configuration of the MacBook Neo is sold out in the United States and will only ship between April 6 and 13 when you order from Apple’s online store, pushing back shipping dates by two to three weeks.

Apple’s UK online store shows similar dates, and most models are expected to ship between April 9 and 16. Depending on which iteration of the Neo you choose, you could be looking between April 16 and 23 for your device to ship – this is primarily the MacBook Neo with the Blush finish and applies to both the 256GB and 512GB models. Ordering from your local Apple Store might not be the best idea either, as in-store pickup dates are also being pushed back.
Waiting until next month to acquire what will undoubtedly become one of the most budget-friendly laptops isn’t ideal, but a few weeks ago we predicted that Apple would sell them in batches, and here we are. But despite the frustrating delays, it reveals something monumental about Apple as a company, and it’s all thanks to the new Mac clients.
For the first time, the launch of a MacBook marked the start of a demand that we only really see with the release of a new iPhone. Apple CEO Tim Cook called it the “best launch week ever” for Macs, fueled by new MacBook owners. This can be attributed to the MacBook Neo’s affordable price, giving users who wanted to convert to the Mac a better entry point, but were never able to justify the high price. But the Neo also did a remarkable job attracting casual users and students.
Just like us, Reddit users were also expecting this request, with one describing the MacBook Neo as “such a neat laptop”, garnering many responses agreeing that it will be a big hit with academics, especially in September. Additionally, Apple’s budget laptop has given users yet another reason not to opt for an iPad, which costs about the same as the MacBook Neo, but requires purchasing a separate keyboard and other accessories, which are not budget-friendly.
With that in mind, buying a MacBook Neo from your nearest Apple store may be your best option if you don’t want to wait nearly three weeks for one to arrive. You can also try other retailers such as Amazon, which offers same-week shipping. Unfortunately, the MacBook Neo is out of stock on Amazon UK, so heading to the Apple Store is your best bet right now.
