Madonna shares why she is not “afraid of death” in emotional homage

Madonna admitted that death did not scare her because she had witnessed the death of her mother at a very young age.

The pop star went to her official Instagram account on Thursday, February 27, and in honor of her late mother Madonna Louise Ciccone, she refused a note in November 2024.

While remembering her deceased mother, Madonna revealed why she was intrepid of death.

“When I was a child, my mother died,” said Madonna. “Seeing her beautiful face in the open coffin and kissing her red lips to say goodbye, left a haunting memory. A deep desire. A terrible fear of abandonment. I would follow my father everywhere, reminding him that if he died, I wanted to be buried with him.”

The 66 -year -old singer continued saying: “I became fascinated by cemeteries. I was not afraid of death because I knew it was the only way to become again with my mother. As life lost, I lost many people I loved a lot and I came to consider death as a kind of door for eternal life.”

“Even when my lovers left me, I saw him as a kind of death. When they hurt me, I would have a ritual burial for them. I would have my fear of abandonment before it could surpass me,” she added.

It is relevant to mention that Madonna’s mother died at 30 in 1964 due to breast cancer.
