At least 10 people, including the chief of an unregistered Madrassa, were arrested as part of the brutal murder of a child in the Khwazakhela of Swat-Pakhtunkhwa region, while the police continue to look for two other key suspects in the case, confirmed the police officer of the Swat (DPO).

The police investigation revealed signs of physical violence on other Madrassa children, which prompted an additional case to be deposited against nine teachers who were all arrested.

“About 160 children registered with Madrassa were given to their parents,” he said. The Madrassa, which proved to be illegally operating, was sealed by the authorities. DPO Khan has announced that a list of madrassas not recorded in the district is being compilation and that strict measures will be taken against them.

In addition, in a case related to Gulkada, two men, Mohammad Rahman and Abdul Salam, were arrested under the Child Protection Act for their involvement in the abuse of another child. “We will not tolerate cruelty or abuse against children, and those responsible will be brought to justice,” said DPO Khan.

One day earlier, a young student died tragically after being subjected to five hours of implacable physical violence by his teachers in a Madrassa in the Khwazakhela swat-pakhtunkhwa region.

The incident sparked general anger and sorrow in the region. Family members and local residents went down to the street to protest, blocking the main road to Khwazakhela Bazaar, demanding severe punishment for the teachers involved.

According to a student colleague, the victim was confined to a room by three teachers, who in turn torturing him for five hours. The abuses continued without interruption, each teacher inflicting new pain until the child finally died of his injuries.
