Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), the chief organizer Mahrang Baloch put an end to a hunger strike one day after the high court of Balutchistan (BHC) admitted her plea to cancel her detention, his lawyer said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Byc’s chief Sami Din Baloch, at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, also confirmed that Dr. Mahrang Baloch and others had canceled their five -day hunger strike at the request of lawyers and families from other activists detained byc.
Mahrang Baloch, 32, was arrested last month for terrorism, sedition and murder. She and four other detainees had stopped eating on Thursday to protest against an alleged police force of police and a bad treatment in detention.
The BHC admitted on Monday, admitted to having heard its petition for canceling its detention, said its lawyer Imran Baloch. “The petition was admitted by the high court and opinions were issued to the government,” said the lawyer, adding that an audience was scheduled for Wednesday (today).
Sami Din Baloch told the journalist that Dr. Mahrang, Bebo Baloch, Gulzadi Baloch, Sibghatullah Shahji and Bebigar Baloch had been on the hunger in prison in the last five days, adding that their health would deteriorate quickly and that their condition had become very critical.
“We had serious concerns about the health of our leaders inside the prison. Therefore, yesterday (Monday), a group of families of political prisoners and higher lawyers met them in prison and persuaded them to end the hunger strike. And they ended the hunger strike,” she added. (With an additional AFP input)
