Maine’s governor, Janet Mills, responded to the trial that was filed against his state by the United States Ministry of Justice (DoJ) for letting the athletes transalize in the sports of girls.
The Mills’ office published a statement on Wednesday, a few hours after the prosecutor’s prosecutor Pam Bondi at a morning press conference.
The declaration refers to a decision of a federal judge last Friday to prevent the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) from freezing state funding on the issue and surveys of the Ministry of Education and Social Services of President Donald Trump in the last seven weeks.

Mills also boasted of his political experience in the declaration.
“For decades – first as a district prosecutor, as a prosecutor general, and now as governor – I have fought relentlessly for the rights of women and girls, for the health and well -being of children and families, and the defense of the constitution of Maine and the constitution of the United States. The Ministry of Justice accused the state of “flouting openly and challenging the anti-discrimination federal law by applying policies that force girls to compete with boys in sports competitions designated exclusively for girls”, according to a complaint obtained by PK Press Club.
“By prioritizing gender identity on biological reality, Maine’s policies deprive the athletes of girls of equitable competition, refuse them equal sporting opportunities and expose them to increased risks of physical injuries and psychological damage,” added the complaint.
The complaint said that the United States will request “a judgment granting a declaratory injunction and damaging the violations of defendant of the defendant of the title IX and the federal financing contracts which he signed promising to comply with title IX and his implementation regulations”.
The announcement of the trial comes almost two months after a sadly famous hostile exchange between Trump and Mills at a bipartite meeting of the Governors of the White House on February 21.
