On Wednesday evening, a meeting of the school board in the capital of Maine in the capital of Augusta presented a controversial interaction between a parent in a “Maga” hat and the president of the school board on the continuous controversy of the State on the inclusion of trans athletes in the sports of girls.
The president of the Augusta School Board, Martha Witham, cut the local parent Nick Blanchard while discussed the controversial question and a petition he launched so that the director of Cony Middle and the high school, Kim Liscomb, withdrew from her post, as we see in the images of the meeting.

Liscomb is currently President of the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA), which supports the participation of transgender athletes in school sports according to gender identity and was a subject of control by the administration of President Donald Trump on the issue.
Blanchard, who appeared in Reunion in a “Maga” hat and a T-shirt by Governor Janet Mills who said “You are dismissed”, started his speech by praising the six of the seven members of the board of directors who voted to adopt the interpretation in 2020 of title IX which did not allow the Transhattes de Transhat.
Blanchard also condemned the member of the board of directors who voted against this, which caused the first interruption of Witham.
“Good work and thank you to the six members who voted to return to the interpretation in 2020 of the title IX, and shame on the sole member of the board of directors who voted,” started Blanchard.
Witham then cut it, saying: “I’m sorry, but the negative comments will not be allowed.”
Blanchard then discussed his petition to have Liscomb removed.

“This petition requires … If you, the members of the school board, will vote,” started Blanchard before being cut again by Witham.
Witham told Blanchard that his statements “would not be tolerated” and warned him that he would be invited to withdraw from the podium if he continued to make “defamatory remarks”.
When Blanchard asked how his remarks were “defamatory”, Witham replied by saying “I don’t have to explain it to you”.
“These comments will not be tolerated by the meeting directed towards us or to anyone in this room,” said Witham.
Blanchard then agreed to make his speech without referring to Liscomb by name.
“So, as most of you know, someone who is president of the Maine Director association,” started Blanchard before being interrupted by Witham for the last time.
“No, close enough. I’m sorry, you’re done, Mr. Blanchard,” said Witham, ordering him to get out of the podium.
While Blanchard walked away, he shouted “Communist China here!”

Maine is currently considered Ground Zero in the National Debate on Trans inclusion in the sports of girls and women, because several federal agencies have exerted pressure on the state since February to modify its current policies which allow the inclusion trans.
The US Department of Agriculture engaged state financing last week, and the Ministry of Health and Social Services has already returned the Maine Ministry of Education, the MPA and the Greely high school to the Ministry of Justice.
Friday is the deadline for the State to modify its current policies or to face another reference to the Ministry of Justice by the United States Ministry of Education.
