Malir prison’s getaway reached 225, not 216

A story of prisoners from Malir’s prison revealed that 225 prisoners, not 216, as initially reported, escaped on June 3, he emerged on Tuesday.

The new prison administration carried out an in -depth examination and found that nine other prisoners, not included in the initial report, had escaped the prison.

The superintendent of the Malir prison, Shahabuddin Siddiqi, wrote to the SP of the Department of Investigation of Malir, the notifier of the counting of revised escapes.

Siddiqi said in the letter he had taken care of the prison on June 4 and launched a full audit during the Eid holidays, which led to the identification of the 10 additional missing prisoners.

To date, 146 prisoners have been resumed, while 79 are still on the run. A prisoner was listed twice in the escape list.

It was confirmed that one of the escapees, Raza Pervez Masi, committed suicide in the Médine colony district to Maripur, while another died after being killed after his escape.

Earlier, a jailbreak performed in Malir prison on June 3 early in the morning when the prisoners crossed the prison wall and tried to flee, which prompted a quick and heavy response of the law enforcement organizations.

The area surrounding the prison was completed as part of an intensified man hunt.

According to the first reports, shots broke out near the prison after the attempted escape.

The police forces, helped by other law enforcement units, quickly mobilized and launched a large -scale research operation to apprehend the fugitives.

Police urged citizens to avoid the area and to report any activity immediately suspicious. An official investigation into the security violation is expected once the situation is under control.
