Man is transformed outside the DPO office

Khanewal:

A man on fire outside the office of the district police officer (DPO) after being rejected several times to a hearing by police officials.

The man, identified as Arshad Sandhu, suffered serious burns and was transferred to the Nishtar Multan hospital in critical condition. The family said the police have restricted all the access to him, allowing no visitor.

According to details, Arshad had visited the DPO office for several days to file a complaint against two local men, Ramzan and Ali Dar, alleging that they had worked it but had not paid his salary of 65,000 rupees.

Despite several attempts, the staff of the office would have refused to present him before the DPO Muhammad Ismail Kharrak and kept refusing him.

On the day of the incident, Arshad arrived with his wife and two children in another attempt to ask for justice. When officials again refused him access to the DPO, he would have become frustrated and had petrol assembled at the office’s door before setting fire.

He was urgently transported to the Hospital of the Khanewal district headquarters and was then transferred to Nishtar Multan hospital due to the severity of his burns.

The hospital sources indicate that a large part of his body has been burned and that he is treated in the intensive care unit.
