March Madness: Coach agrees to join another team after the tournament: reports

Will Wade will have a slightly clumsy day in March Madness on Thursday.

McNeese’s head coach will aim for an upheaval against Clemson, his own Alma Mater, when the ball paid at 3:15 p.m. in Providence, Rhode Island.

To make things even stranger, several reports said that Wade had already concluded an agreement to become a head coach of NC State at the end of the tournament.

Wade admitted earlier this week that he had been in contact with the Wolfpack, simply answering “yes” when asked.

Wade, 42, said he had always tried to be transparent with his assistants and players during this time of the year.

“Say it like that,” said Wade. “You may not always like what I’m going to say, but I’m going to tell you what I think. I have always been like that, and there is no need to hide it. Guys read it on social networks. It’s not a secret.”

The NC State dismissed coach Kevin Keatts on March 9, an abrupt end to an eight -year term who saw the fall of the program this year, which proved to be too much to overcome even when it is framed against the remarkable end of last season. The announcement one day after the Wolfpack closed a 12-19 season and did not even manage to qualify for the ACC tournament as a reigning champion.

The Cowboys enter this year’s tournament with a record of 27-6 and have recently left their second consecutive championship of the Southland conference. Previously, he spent five seasons in LSU, two seasons at the VCU and two in Chattanooga.
