TCU Horned Frogs’ female basketball star Hailey Van Lith, spoke of her difficulties with her mental health when she was dealing with the celebrity of social media at a young age.
Van Lith was no longer further than the national spotlights during his collegial and Olympic basketball career. She played in Louisville before her transfer to LSU and later to TCU, where she helped the team to a Big 12 championship this season.

After lending a helping hand to defeat the cardinals, she spoke frankly about her mental health.
“The way I was exposed to media and social media at such a young age, I really fought with mental health things,” she said, via Illustrated Sports. “When I was younger and at university, I was suicidal, I was heavily drug and I felt trapped.
“You would never know it because I was a ton of success in the field, but internally, and in life in general, I was ready to be finished. This is what I mean when I speak of suffering and pain. It’s like I didn’t even want to live.

Van Lith collected 16 points and 10 rebounds in the 85-70 victory. TCU is in Sweet 16 for the first time in the history of the program.

She went to the Final Four and two Elite Eight with Louisville from 2021-2023. She reached Elite Eight with LSU last season.
