Marshal Army Chief, Asim Munnir, holds key safety talks in Tehran

The chief of staff of the army, Marshal Syed Asim Munnir, met on Tuesday of senior Iranian military officials in Tehran to discuss the deepening of the cooperation of defense and the improvement of border security mechanisms.

During his visit to the general headquarters, the chief of the army had discussions with the general of division Mohammad Bagheri, chief of the general state of the Iranian armed forces.

The two officials exchanged opinions on the evolution of the regional security environment and agreed to stimulate military coordination to military.

The discussions also covered joint efforts to transform the shared border into a center for trade and economic activity, the two nations stressing the need to promote regional peace and prosperity.

The army chief was received with complete military honors, including a ceremonial honor custody by a contingent of the Iranian armed forces.

The Marshal in the field also accompanied the Prime Minister of Pakistan during meetings with the supreme Iranian chief of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The visit is part of an official visit underway in Türkiye, Iran and Azerbaijan, by high -level delegation of Pakistan.

Previously, the first lady of Pakistan, Asefa Bhutto Zardari, met on Monday an Iranian delegation superior to Bilawal House, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to strengthen bilateral links and promote regional cooperation with Tehran.

The visiting delegation was led by Dr Reyhaneh Sadat Raeisi, daughter of the late Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi. It was accompanied by senior Iranian officials, including Dr. Vahed Asghari, the affairs of the Iranian consulate general; Dr Saeid Talebi Nia, Managing Director and Cultural attaché in Khana-E-Farhang Iran; and others.

The Pakistani dignitaries, including Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and the Sindh Minister of Health, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, also attended the meeting.

Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in health care, cultural exchange and diplomatic commitment. The First Lady highlighted the historical and cultural links shared by the two nations and appreciated the long -standing support of Iran in Pakistan.

“We have always appreciated Iran’s unwavering support,” said Asefa Bhutto Zardari. “Our countries share a deeply rooted relationship based on mutual respect and shared aspirations.” She also praised Iran’s achievements in health care, noting the constant praise of Minister Pechuho after a visit to Iranian institutions.

Dr. Raeisi expressed his gratitude for the solidarity of Pakistan after the death of his father and transmitted a thank you message to President Asifi Ali Zardari.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Azerbaijan as part of a regional visit to four countries aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic links. The visit follows stops before Turkiye and Iran, where the Prime Minister had high -level discussions on bilateral cooperation, regional connectivity and mutual development objectives.

The tour will end in Tadjikistan, where the Prime Minister is expected to attend the international glacier conference from May 29 to 30.
