The official trailer for Thunderbolts * was revealed – and he confirms which of his anti -heroes will in fact be the main villain of the film Marvel.
Released yesterday (February 9) during one of the many advertising breaks of the Super Bowl Lix, the Teaser confirms my suspicions that Marvel Phase 5 will be released with a blow rather than a groan. Indeed, the final film of the second phase of the multiverse saga is full of target lines, frantic action and convincing melodrama, so that you can bet that I will be seated in my nearest cinema on launch day.

Interesting, the last teaser for Thunderbolts * Do not try to hide who will be his main bad guy. Until now, the various trailers and television spots by Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) had suggested that it would be Contissa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who will be played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. This new batch of sequences, however, clearly shows that it will not be the main antagonist of this superhero film.

Thunderbolts * The villain explained: Bob Reynolds, Sentry, and the void
The second trailer for Marvel Phase 5’s film reveals that Bob Reynolds, the character MCU who will be played by Lewis Pullman, is actually a super when you are. Not only that, but it also houses more than one secret itself – and one of them is potentially variety of the end of the world.
Okay, who is Bob really? As I said, it is an individual with superhuman capacities which is more commonly known as Sentry. In Marvel literature, Sentry is a superhero who, according to Titan comics, has the power of a million explosion of Suns. Yes, he is that powerful. Consider it as the point of view of the Marvel universe on Superman and you will have a much clearer idea of the type of power we are talking about.
But, as I also alluded, Reynolds is not an honest hero in the same vein as Spider-Man or various other Marvel heroes. This is because it also has an incredibly dangerous alter-ego called the void that emerges every time Bob / Sentry loses control.
Essentially, in comics, Bob received an experimental serum (one developed in an attempt to recreate the super-soldier serum that Steve Rogers was given to become Captain America) which has imbued it with superpowers. However, the substance also created the void, a demonic entity which causes free destruction and death if it manages to fight against the control of the spirit of Bob and its powers of its much healthier character.
To prevent the void from taking control of his body and mind, and to prevent him from destroying the world, Bob had his memory wiped to various points through the history of Marvel. This is the only way to keep Bob and Planet Earth safe – but, on occasion strange where the void was too powerful to stop, Bob was forced to commit suicide.
We already knew that Bob Reynolds / Sentry would appear in one of the new most exciting films of 2025. Last August, a flight Thunderbolts * Teaser confirmed that Sentry would be part of the distribution. This confirmation came a month before Thunderbolts * The first trailer was revealed. The latest images of the film, however, also reveal that the void will be the big villain of the film.
We do not know who or what will bring out the dark side of Bob. The last trailer suggests that this will happen when the anti-hero holder group meets Fontaine in the building formerly known as Avengers Tower, which it now has, which I expect to happen in the second act from the film. It looks like a good place so that great revelations of the intrigue are revealed, including one or more involving Bob who strengthens and brings out the void.
We also don’t know if Sentry / The Void will be as extremely powerful as in comics. I would be surprised if there is not a form of power scale based on MCU which makes it less formidable, however, so that Yelena Belova and the company actually have a chance to fight. That said, the last teaser proves that he will have a number of capacities at his disposal, including the flight and power to send people in the field of the shadow of the void, which we see a few occasions in this trailer.
Thunderbolts * arrives in theaters on May 2. It will be the second of the three MCU films that will be released this year, with Captain America: Brave New World The first on February 14 before The Fantastic Four: First steps Rounded things on July 25.
