- Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has just received its first gameplay Deep Dive
- This beginner’s guide focuses on the game mechanisms and the beacon system
- It seems entirely different from how the marking has worked in the Marvel vs capcom series
PlayStation Studios and Arc System Works published the beginner’s official guide for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, A next fighting game is expected to be released in 2026.
Downloaded via the IGN Youtube channel, the beginner’s guide gives us our first complete overview of Fight souls’ Gameplay – including its global style, button arrangement and its initially bizarre beacons mechanics.
A 4V4 2D fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls You have selected a team of four heroes (or bad) from their list of characters. You are first of all your character as a “leader”, whose control you will assume control. The other three are your aid and they will perform different actions depending on the slit in which they are.
To watch
The beginner’s guide clearly shows that you will not have access to your full team at the start of a match. You will start with only two and you will have to unlock your third and fourth actions. These include your opponent successfully launching your opponent, making a scene transition by falling your opponent out of the edge of the screen or losing a turn.
This is certainly not what I expected, and it is an incredibly new vision of the Tag Fighter formula. That said, Fighting Souls Always feel a little familiar to Arc System Works Fans in other areas.
As Granblue fantasy against: rising,, Each character has light, medium and heavy buttons that can be removed together for a combo. With enough meter, these “auto combos” can end with special or ultimate movements depending on the entry chain. Everyone also has a button dedicated to their unique skills, such as Iron Man’s missiles or the doctor Doom shield.
It is a lot to take, but I think that true complexity will enter into the placement of your help characters. There are three types of assistance – shooter, vertical and assault – therefore choosing the right character for the role will undoubtedly lead to hours and hours of experimentation.
There is no release date for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Just again, outside its 2026 window. However, with the EVO 2025 combat game event on a large scale of Sony during the weekend, I expect even more news for the game. Perhaps a few character strips or a more concrete release date.
