The legend of Olympic gymnastics Mary Lou Reton was arrested for a Dui accusation in Virginia-Western earlier this month, according to legal files.
Reton was accused of a leader under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances or drugs on May 17, according to the judicial archives of Marion. She was released from prison after publishing a personal receipt of $ 1,500.

PK Press Club Digital contacted Reton representatives to comment.
Reton, 57, was diagnosed with a “rare form of pneumonia” in 2023, her family raising the alarm she “fought for her life”. It was placed in the intensive care unit for a while because the doctors helped her fight against the disease.

Reton was nicknamed “America’s Sweetheart” during his winning gold medal performance at the 1984 summer games in Los Angeles. She was only 16 years old when she scored 10 perfect in the ground exercise and leap into the last two rotations to become the first American woman to win the versatile Olympic title.
She won five medals that year – one gold, two silver and two bronze.
After retiring from gymnastics, Reton became a motivation speaker and often shared messages on the advantages of good nutrition and exercise.
