Masters moment: Scottie Scheffler long -term drains Birdie Putt

Scottie Scheffler resumed where he had stopped at the Masters.

Scheffler, 28, won the Masters in 2022 and 2024 and started his quest to win the major tournament of the second consecutive year on Thursday.

Scheffler was 1st of peer in 3-quarter. Scheffler struck his starting at the center of the green, but 60 feet from the hole.

The reigning champion was imperturbable. Scheffler hammered the putt on the hill and at the back of the cup with a certain speed for the Birdie.

The Birdie put it 2 under four holes to start its first round.

When writing these lines, Scheffler is 3 under 12 holes, and is tied in second row while he drags Tyrell Hatton with a blow.

Scheffler seeks to be the fourth golfer to win masters in the years consecutive years. Jack Nicklaus won in 1965-66, Nick Faldo in 1989-90 and Tiger Woods, the last to do in 2001-02.

With his victory last year, Scheffler joined Horton Smith as the only golfers to win his first two control victories in five departures or less. Scheffler never finished outside the Top 20 during his five master’s starts.

After a historically good 2024 season, Scheffler has not yet recorded a victory so far at the PGA Tour this year. Despite this, he has three top 10, one of which was a draw for the second in his last tournament in Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Scheffler missed some tournaments to start the season due to a hand injury.
