The United States male football national football team passes to the Concacaf Gold Cup semi-finals after a spectacular penalty shootout against Costa Rica.
The match was launched with two goals each after more than 90 minutes, which led to the penalty shootout that had all the dramatic to keep everyone on the edge of their seats to see who was going to move on.
After Tyler Adams of the USMNT and Alonso Martinez of Costa Rica buried their attempts to start the penalty shootout, the goalkeeper Matt Freese of the United States made a huge stop on the shot of Juan Pablo Vargas to give the top to his team.

This came after Malik Tillman caught up with a missed penalty shot during regular times which could have been the winner of the match, perfectly placing his shot on his left after the legend of the Costa Ric, Keylor Navas.
But Sebastian Berhalter, the son of the former USMNT head coach, Gregg Berhalter, equalized things when he sent his attempted the net. Santiago van der Putten’s follow -up shooting for Costa Rica has passed Freese despite the goalkeeper to guess the right way.
After Alex Freeman and Jefferson Brenes made their shots respectively, Freeese obtained another stop on the attempt by Francisco Calvo, giving John Tolkin to finish everything for the USMNT. But Navas went up on Clutch, while he jumped to his left and moved away from Tolkin’s shot.
An additional turn was necessary, but Freeese was simply locked up. He was able to stop the consecutive blows, which this time saves Andy Rojas’ shot.
Again, the USMNT had the chance to end the match, and Damion Downs had the opportunity. Navas was unable to guess right this time, while Downs left on the left and celebrated immediately while the ball hit the back of the net.
During the 90 minutes before the shooting, there were also fireworks, starting with “Los Ticos” which first climbed on the board. It was Calvo who obtained the best of Freese with a penalty shot in the 12th minute.
However, the UMSNT joined the end of the first half with Diego Luna marking in the 43rd minute and Max Arfsteten the following in the 47th minute.
Then, in the 71st minute in the middle of the second half, Martinez came to slide after a rebound in Freese to equalize the match.

But the USMNT will be the one that will pass in Guatemala on Wednesday in the semi-finals to determine who has a place in the Gold Cup final.
The other semi-final is Mexico against Honduras, which will be played after the United States and Guatemala.
