TV comedian Matt Richardson has opened up about his secret feud with Holly Willoughby.
The old Additional factor The presenter, 34, recalled how a joke he made in 2014 during a presentation of a new panel called Bites of reality caused tensions.
Matt claimed Holly didn’t like the joke, it was about her close friend Nicole Appleton.
He later revealed that during the 2021 series of Dancing on the ice, ‘they barely spoke.’
He said in a TikTok video: “Holly Willoughby doesn’t like me, I don’t think. Many years ago, we are talking about 2014, I did a test in an office.
“They were developing a new panel of shows called Bites of reality and I might become team captain.
“When they first developed it, you go through the series. So we’re doing some analysis and one of the people there was Nicole Appleton.
“On that panel, host Stephen Mulhern asked him, ‘Why were there three of you on this?’
And I said, “Because the three people in this room add up to a celebrity.” It made the room laugh, it was clearly a joke, whatever.
“I then became very good friends with Nicole. We had a few mutual friends, we were going out for drinks. I went to her house for a party.
Matt then claimed that three or four years later, Holly confronted him about the prank.
Nicole, a former member of pop group All Saints, is a key part of Holly’s inner circle of famous friends, which also includes Emma Bunton.
He continued: “Holly comes to me about something and she goes, ‘I have a problem with you.’
“She was in the room during the passage because her husband’s company was arriving there. She said to me, ‘You made a joke about Nicole and it was unacceptable.’ How dare you? I was like, One, it was a joke. Nicole was standing next to me and I said, “Did that offend you?” And she said, “No, everything was fine, I understood that, it’s not a problem.”
‘Holly said, ‘Yeah, but still…’ and really took it out on me, which was really weird. Holly Willoughby scolded me in the middle of this members club.
“I didn’t really see her again until I did Dancing on ice when we barely spoke because it was Covid and I was working out.
It comes after Holly Willoughby joined her friend Nicole Appleton for lunch with friends at the 1 Hotel MayFair in London on Friday.
It also comes shortly after Holly prepares to make her return to television with her own YouTube channel, following speculation about a solo project.
