Matthew Golden was able to live the dream in April when he heard his name entitled in the draft of the NFL – but he had a dream more to accomplish.
Godlen was the 23rd choice of NFL 2025 draft and landed with Green Bay packers, becoming the first receiver of the team selected in the first round since 2002. As a bonus, he obtained an exciting ovation when improving the scene, because the project was just outside the Field Lambeau.
“It was a crazy atmosphere. Fans in general – it is different in Green Bay fans. Packer, they are so authentic, and they really like Green Bay. I can say it by training in training. It is a cool place to be and makes me want to practice a little. They are there in the practice of practice and energy. It is really cool,” Digital.

It was a whirlwind of an offseason for Golden. Just after his last season in Texas ended in the semi-final of the university football playoffs, he had to almost immediately cringe for the draft. Then came the recruit camp, the ota, the mini-cam and now the training camp. Essentially, he has not really left for about a year.
But Golden knew what he was registered with.
“That’s all that I dreamed of when I was a child, it was to be able to go to the NFL, to go to the draft … I felt like the whole process, I definitely took it and I appreciated. Now, I am in a big organization where I can simply play football.”
However, being written, however, was not even his “greatest success”.
It was a promise he made years ago when he was a child, when he decided to give back to his family who had fought throughout his education. When Golden was 12 years old, he and his family lost the property of his grandmother’s house.

“He always stood with me that I wanted to do something good for my family, which was to recover this property.”
Shortly after being drafted, Golden said that the first thing he would do with his new money would be to buy a house from his grandmother. He could not obtain the exact property because of his current state, but with the help of Re / Max, he obtained a neighboring house in Houston.
“It was great. Just see the gaze on my grandmother’s face when I told her that the house was hers, she had a lot of emotions, guy. It was a cool moment for me.
“She lives well, guy.”
Golden surprised her grandmother with the house on July 10. She celebrated her new courtyard and released a “closet dance”.
It was a first -rate 2025 for Golden, but there is still one more objective to be achieved.

“As a team, we are still talking about obtaining the Lombardi trophy. This is the question mark that we have in a team room,” he said. “And I have the impression that for us every day, that’s what we are trying to achieve. We are improving offensively and defensively. We are pushing ourselves. We all know what is the final goal, and that’s the Super Bowl. This is what we are hunting.”
