Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, posted a reflective message on Instagram following her husband’s team’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round on Sunday night.
And as her husband finished his 16th season in the NFL, thinking about retirement came naturally to the legend.
Kelly doesn’t hope Matthew retires from the game he loves as she said she “could never get tired” of watching him play every week during the season.

“Words can’t express how proud I am,” Kelly wrote in the caption of her post, which included photos of her husband and family. “I joke that we’re old and tired, but honestly, I’ll never get tired of looking at you over there or watching our daughters cheer for their daddy.”
However, Kelly left some thoughts for Rams fans, as it appears her husband may be considering hanging up his cleats.
“I wonder if this is the end or not…I guess we’ll find out,” she wrote.
MATTHEW STAFFORD UNSURE ABOUT NFL FUTURE AFTER RAMS ELIMINATION FROM PLAYOFFS
Matthew Stafford, who will soon turn 37, said after the 28-22 loss to the Eagles that he would “take some time to think about it” when it comes to his career.
“I feel like I’m playing really good ball,” he said, via the New York Post.
Stafford’s fourth year with the Rams ended with a playoff performance that saw a potential victory end in a fourth-and-long miss against his favorite target, second-year wide receiver Puka Nacua, on an overhand ball. the limit. .

Stafford completed 26 of 44 passes for 324 yards with two touchdown passes in snowy conditions at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, and he was sacked five times by the Eagles defense, including the critical 3rd-and-2 pick-and-play of Jalen Carter in the red zone before this final incompletion.
But as Stafford mentioned, he can still throw the pigskin, throwing for 3,762 yards with 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions with a 65.8% completion rate through 16 games this season. He went 10-6 in those contests to give the Rams the NFC West title and yet another playoff berth with him at the helm.
Stafford was the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, and although he desperately wanted to win a Super Bowl for the Motor City, he found the Vince Lombardi Trophy in his first season with the Rams in 2021 .
He was traded to the Rams by the Lions, who received Jared Goff in January 2021, changing both franchises. While the Lions got their new franchise quarterback they could build around, the Rams used the veteran Stafford and their own weapons to make a run to the Super Bowl that ended with them hoisting the trophy in their own stadium SoFi vs. the Cincinnati Bengals.

But like his wife said, we’ll find out what’s in store for Stafford’s NFL career later this offseason.
