The availability of Christian McCaffrey is once again a big question mark for the 49ers of San Francisco a few days before their first season game against the Seattle Seahawks.
However, the ball carrier himself does not seem at all worried to know if he will play Seattle on Sunday.
“I always intend to play,” he told journalists via ESPN. “I feel good where I am. Unfortunately, when you have the history of the injuries that I have, sometimes when you do not train, things are blown away. But as I said, I feel good.”

On Friday, McCaffrey was deemed questionable in the 49ers injury report due to a calf problem. He was listed as a participant limited to training on Thursday, and after not having practiced on Friday, fans wonder if it is already seen after the unjust of last year’s injury.
McCaffrey was listed as questionable for last week, and he insisted that he was fine and ready to play against New York Jets. But he rather landed on the injured reserve because his waterproofing of the calves turned out to be a bilateral tendinitis of Achilles. McCaffrey ended up playing only four games last season.

Thus, while fans of the 49ers see a calf disease on the injury report, there is skepticism leading to Sunday.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan did not enter the details of McCaffrey’s injury during his media availability, only confirming that he did not participate on Friday. McCaffrey, on the other hand, gave some history about what he was dealing with.

“I am not supposed to enter everything that happened, but I felt like it was the intelligent thing to do so as not to finish training (Thursday),” said McCaffrey. “I have already been there and I was my worst enemy in situations like that, and I was proud of myself not to start again. As I said, I went through a whole training camp. I feel good where I am.”
During the training camp, McCaffrey had no injury problems because Shanahan and others praised his performance in practice. He did not play in any pre-season match for obvious reasons because San Francisco wanted to be careful.
But the season begins on Sunday, and the hopes of the 49ers in the playoffs are linked to n ° 23 occurring as he did two seasons ago when the team reached the Super Bowl.

“In the end, if you can play, you play in the game,” he said. “It’s as simple as that.”
