In light of the difficulties encountered by students of the areas affected by the floods, Pakistan Medical Council (PM & DC) announced Thursday that the medical and dental admission test (MDCAT) 2025 had been reprogrammed from October 5 to 26.
A total of 140,071 candidates registered for the exam, which will be held nationally in provincial universities, with an additional international test place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Punjab leads with 50,443 candidates registered as part of the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, followed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with 39,964 via Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. The Sindh has 33,160 candidates registered via the Sukkur IBA test service, while Balutchistan will have 10,278 candidates under the Bolan University of Medical Sciences and Health, Quetta.
In addition, 1,146 candidates from the territory of the capital of Islamabad, 3,322 of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 1,564 from Gilgit-Baltistan will pass the test under Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad. Abroad, 194 candidates will appear in the centers organized by Szabmu.
PM & DC stressed that although the examination was led by universities appointed by the federal and provincial government, it has developed a uniform program and a bank of articles to maintain equity. Universities must strictly adhere to PM and DC standards for the adjustment of the examination paper and the declaration of the results.
To ensure transparency and notify the professional fault, the council is coordinated with the FIA, the IB and the police forces. Applicants have been advised to rely solely on official PM and DC communications or university and ignore the false information circulating in the media.
The president of the PM and DC, Dr. Rizwan Taj, urged universities to facilitate candidates and to ensure a gentle examinations. He encouraged students to prepare with dedication and integrity, stressing that merit and hard work are essential to success.
The MDCAT remains a compulsory entry test for admission to medical and dental colleges across Pakistan, serving as a critical stage in the selection of the most qualified candidates for the health profession.
