Meghan Markle has faced brutal criticism following her recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week, with one royal expert calling the trip a “humiliating flop”.
The Duchess of Sussex attended the Balenciaga spring/summer 2026 show, but was mocked online for her runway show, stiff poses and an awkward moment with creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli.
A video she later shared showed her relaxing in a limousine near the site of Princess Diana’s tragic death, sparking further backlash for her poor taste.
Talk with The Express, Royal commentator Lee Cohen said the exit was “an absolute disaster”.
He said: “Showing up to the Balenciaga show in this ill-fitting white outfit, strutting around like she’s auditioning for a bad modeling parody – it’s all so fake and forced, like she’s trying way too hard to play the role of a fashion icon but ending up as the punchline.
“The video of her exiting the show was ripped apart online, and rightly so; her awkward poses, stiff gait reminiscent of Zoolander’s inflated ego, and awkward interaction with the creative director scream inauthenticity,” the expert added.
“It wasn’t a triumph; it was a humiliating failure that underscores his waning star power and inability to read the room.”
