Meghan Markle scores ‘biggest victory’ against critics, much to William’s dismay

Tensions between the royal family and the Sussexes are far from being resolved, but it appears that the two sides are likely to reach a compromise sooner or later.

The upcoming visit to Australia is “one of, if not the most anticipated royal events of the year”, according to royal author Richard Palmer. He explained that no matter how well-intentioned Harry and Meghan’s plans are, they could overshadow some key events for the royal family.

He stressed that the Sussexes want to “prove their critics wrong and therefore hope it will be a huge success”. If things go as planned, it will be Meghan’s “revenge” on everyone who didn’t believe in her.

The royal author believes that the reason Buckingham Palace and Montecito are “talking”, even in private, is that there is still an undeniable impact on the Sussexes. There’s certainly “some degree of deconfliction going on” during their years-long feud.

“I think it will also annoy the king and other members of the family if, as seems likely, Meghan and Harry attract a lot of media attention while they are in Australia, and that then overshadows anything else that is happening here,” he said. The Mirror.

What’s more, the Sussexes seemed to have circumvented one of their “biggest” frustrations as they had to defer to the order of the hierarchy – starting with King Charles, Queen Camilla and even the Prince and Princess of Wales.

“They found it really frustrating to have to fit in with everyone else when, for them, they were the big attraction at the box office,” he said. “But from Meghan and Harry’s point of view, they don’t have to worry about that anymore.”

This could prove to be a major victory for Meghan against her brother-in-law and future King William, who wants to remove the Sussexes from the royal fold. This would be a blow as the Palace is forced to recognize the impact Harry and Meghan have, even as non-working royals.
