Bill Gates’ ex-wife Melinda French Gates has broken her silence after the Microsoft founder’s name appeared in investigative files involving convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Speaking to NPR’s Wild Card In the Tuesday, February 3, 2026 podcast, Melinda said it was very difficult for her when such details were revealed, adding: “It reminds me of very, very painful times in my marriage.”
She said: “Whatever questions remain, whatever. It’s up to these people and even my husband to answer. They’re the ones who need to answer these things, not me.”
The American tech billionaire’s name appeared in the latest Epstein files released by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The emails alleged that Bill Gates contracted a sexually transmitted infection (STI) after alleged physical contact with Russian girls on Epstein’s island.
However, the 70-year-old has denied the allegations, saying they are “absolutely absurd and completely false.”
Bill Gates’ spokesperson said: “The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration at not having had an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to to frame and defame.” ยป
Besides Bill Gates, several other influential names appeared in the recently released 3 million Epstein files.
