Melinda French Gates thought about the unexpected grandparent happiness.
The philanthropic and businesswoman spoke frankly about the ups and downs that she has gone through her life, and in many twists and turns of her life, she kissed her two granddaughters.
“During this season, I saw my life change in the way I hoped, the ways to fight and that I could never have imagined,” she wrote in her book, The day afterwhich should be published on April 15. “At 58, much earlier in life than expected, I became a grandmother.”
Although she has gone through difficult phases of her life, Malinda, who is the mother of three children: her Rory, 25, and her daughters Phoebe, 22, and Jennifer, 28, whom she shares with ex-husband Bill Gates, warmly welcomed her grandchildren.
The proud mother became the first grandmother in February 2023 when her daughter Jennifer gave birth to a little girl named Leila, who is now 2 years old.
She welcomed another little girl, Mia, who is now five months old, with her husband, Nayel Nassar.
In a recent interview with People, The grandmother of two noted that she had not imagined being a grandparent would also be wonderful.
“Each time I pass with these two little girls, it’s just a delight,” said Melinda, sharing that they will soon go on family vacation. “I share it thinking about that, like” oh, I’m going to be on the beach with these little girls. “And, everything that requires, the little sun hat and everything else, [like] The splashes in the water, but it is delicious. “”
